National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day

It's National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day!!!! And what other way to celebrate that having an untraditionally creative grilled cheese tasting. Paul is always up for a new taste test but I think this one had me drooling well before he could even smell what was on the stove. I decided to make a fun variety of grilled cheeses and I just loved how they all came out. Grilled cheese can be one of the simplest meals/ snacks to throw together and you can get so creative when your talking about bread and cheese, the possibilities are endless. I had tested out a Grilled Portobelo and Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese last month and it was outstanding. The comfort from your favorite childhood sandwich with the new more sophistocated you taste makes for a perfect meal anytime. Who doesn't love sweatpants, a good movie and hot cheesy grilled cheese to relax after work.

Here are 6 of my favorites that came about in my last year of cooking that I would love to share with you...

The Man's Grilled Cheese Sandwich with white bread, brie cheese, maple smoked ham, Dijon mustard and roasted red peppers was delicious...filling and delicious. I called this the man's grilled cheese because although most grilled cheeses can have toppings or added ingredients, only a man would want to pound on the meat. The creaminess of the brie with the salty meat and red peppers made this a really nice sandwich.

Garlic grilled cheese was a huge hit with american and habanero cheese then rubbed on the outer layers with minced garlic butter. This had the homemade classic consistancy but with the fresh garlic fried right into the bread. It was almost like garlic bread with a nice spicy cheese for a little extra zing.
Single Girl's Grilled Cheese Sandwich hits home on so many tasty ingredients with artichokes, beefsteak tomato, and black olives filled with cream and sharp cheddar cheese. The salted creaminess will be a winner for guys and gals alike with a taste that puts your right at home.
I absolutely love the Grown Up Italian Grilled Cheese, which I love the name I gave this sandwich because it is simply tastful with pesto, mozzarella cheese and basil spread over brick oven tuscan bread. It's the adult way to enjoy this cheesy sandwich favorite. This was definatly one of my top!
Being that it's springtime, I couldn't believe the flavors of this Strawberry Grilled Cheese with goat cheese, basil, jalapeno pepper jelly and spring lettuce. The fire from the pepper jelly and sweetness from the fruit blended this grilled cheese sandwich so well and is wonderfully fresh and fulfilling. The goat cheese really compliments the strawberrys and jalapeno jelly without overtaking the taste, very tasty.

The Englishman, which I found out the name derives from the simple fact that it’s served between two upside-down English muffin slices, which makes for optimal crustiness. This Inside-Out English Muffin Grilled Cheese has sharp cheedar cheese, beef steak tomato, salt and pepper.
Defiantly Enjoy!
