Spiced Pumpkin Cream Cheese {and a Bloggy Award}

Pin It
Obsessed with pumpkin doesn't even relate to what I have been up to in my kitchen lately. It's like I never knew it existed before, or it could just be that I have never been so in tune with what amazing recipes are out there to create.

Either way, this month has been a ongoing pumpkin, apple and maple syrup affair for me and I just can't stop it.

I have already cooked up Pumpkin Spice Syrup to add to your morning coffee or favorite beverage, the best Creamed Spicy Pumpkin Soup for dinner one night, the essential Pumpkin Pie Spice to have around the house for easy cooking and finally, the most amazing Pumpkin Pie Popsicles you have ever tasted.
So I had to move on to breakfast because what would fall be without a little festive cream cheese to spread on your favorite morning treat.

This cream cheese is like harvest on a bagel. So sweet and creamy and the spices put the perfect tartness to the spread. I bet if I added a little more brown sugar to this it would make for the most fantastic cream cheese frosting to cupcakes or morning muffins.

The color may throw you off but trust me, everyone that had the pleasure to taste this fall cream cheese was more than pleased. It takes seconds to whip up and saves for over a week.

Spread some fall love on your morning!

Recipe adapted from Better Homes and Gardens

1 8-oz package of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
3 tbsp light brown sugar
3/4 tsp pumpkin spice

1/2 tsp vanilla

In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, pumpkin and sugar until smooth. (You could also use an immersion blender or wooden spoon.)Add the pumpkin pie spice and vanilla.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Serve over bagels or muffins for a creamy bite into fall.

{And a Bloggy Award}

A great foodie friend Sawsan from Chef In Disguise surprised me with this amazing blog award The Versatile Blogger. She has an amazing blog and no surprise, she truly is a Chef in Disguise because Sawsan is an orthodontist by day and a genius cook by night. Please go check her our and see what delicious things she always has cooking, of course that is when she is not in her doctors coat.
The award comes with 2 conditions, pass it on to other wonderful bloggers and share 7 things the readers don’t know about you.
1. I was born and raised in Connecticut and have although I have moved towns, I have never lived outside of CT. {maybe one day we will move down south}
2. My name, Laura Jeanne, is a blend of two of my aunts, Laura being my mothers sister and Jeanne being my fathers sister... however if you ever asked my parents they stick to their originally story of "I just looked like a Laura Jeanne". haha, either way I still LOVE my name.
3. My boyfriend is in the Army and has served over two years overseas fighting for our country... He is an amazing man and a true American Hero.

4. I love fall and football season. Paul and I are JETS fans but my true team has to be the 49ers (and what a crazy awesome season we have been having!!!). We try to whatever games we can, local or big shots because the environment and experience is always fun. This year we have already been to the JETS opening game on 9-11 and West Point's homecoming game against Tulane. All great, and all WINS!
5. I work for a nonprofit. It's a rewarding experience every time I step into the office and accomplish the things I do for our girls. It's not always the easiest job but my co-workers and especially all my volunteers make everything worth while. Building the pathway to girls futures is something I can always go home smiling about.
6. I have two puppies to which I love more than anything. Callie is our almost 5 yr old Pug and Zoey is our 3 yr old Pit bull. Both of them are the snuggliest pups and we love them unconditionally.
7. I live for sunsets. I think they are one of the most beautiful things to watch and be a part of. Pictures can't fully capture the experience of the warm sun on your face and the orangey blend that fills the sky to create a moment, a feeling that touches your soul and makes you feel like your a little piece in a mush bigger and beautiful world.
