How many people can say they were able to chat, no no... converse with an idol of theirs?
I can I can!!!!
As some of you may already know, and have probably been waiting to see, (because I have been boasting with excitement for weeks now), I had the HONOR of interviewing Ellie Krieger a few weeks ago on healthy snacking.
Being a foodie, I know that healthy sides and snacks can be just as important as the main dish and even more important in setting your food trends for the day. California Table Grape Commission paired up with Food Network star Ellie Krieger, to share snacking options that are not only quick and easy, but also flavorful and interesting... and they are all shared here with us today!
Now I don't know about you but I am absolutely a snacker through and through. I carry with me at all times a healthy lean granola bar or a small bag of walnuts and almonds in case hunger strikes. I am one of those people at 3pm in the office who is mindlessly looking for something sweet. Now there are plenty of healthy snacks out there to keep your cravings and your overeating at bay. That is exactly what Ellie and I had planned to discuss in our interview. Boy did she have some excellent tips and tricks for tasty food with a healthy mind.
For those of you who do not know Ellie, she is the host of the Food Network and Cooking Channel’s popular show “Healthy Appetite”.
She is also the New York Times best-selling author of:
- Comfort Food Fix: Feel-Good Favorites Made Healthy (2011 James Beard Award nominee)
- So Easy: Luscious, Healthy Recipes for Every Meal of the Week (2009)
- The Food You Crave: Luscious Recipes for a Healthy Life (2008)
- Small Changes, Big Results: A 12-Week Action Plan to a Better Life (2005)
Ellie is best known for her every day, down-to-earth focus on enjoying foods that are healthy, without compromising quality and flavor. In this video interview with me, "A Healthy Jalapeno", we talk about how we can take one of her favorite ‘Super Snacks’, the fresh California grape, and utilize its summer sweetness to add crunch and color to snacks.
